All Fair Trade labeling systems have common roots

KAIKU Ethical and People Tree are licensees of the FAIRTRADE mark that is the most recognized and trusted sustainability label in the world. It is a global organization that is co-owned by more than 1.8 million farmers and workers who earn fairer prices, build stronger communities, and have control over their futures.

They independently check that their standards have been met by everyone in the supply chain, from farmers to factories. FAIRTRADE is the only certifier to provide a Fairtrade Minimum Price for farmers, plus a premium that goes directly to farmers to invest back into their own communities. All of People Tree’s essential collection has the FAIRTRADE mark. Read more from www.fairtrade.net

Moomin Shirts are also made of 100% Organic Fairtrade Certified Cotton by Assisi Garments, that is a social enterprise in India. The skilled artisans at Assisi transform Fairtrade and organic cotton fiber into beautiful and meaningful handmade garments.

World fair trade day reminds us that we need fair trade now more than ever

The World Fair Trade Day is a global celebration on the second Saturday of May. It is organised annually by the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) to raise awareness on alternative solutions to the planet’s economic and ecological challenges. Fair Trade Enterprises lead the celebration together with the sister movements, allies, government leaders and consumers. The 2022 celebration focuses on Climate Justice and the solutions presented by the Fair Trade, cooperative and organic movements. The ecological and social justice crisis we are currently facing must be address with fresh solutions. Together we can make a difference.
